There is nothing that turns off a potential end-user buyer more than a spammy-looking website. Even if a domain is of quality, there is no incentive to contact the seller. Quite the opposite, the potential buyer will likely have the impression that any contact attempt will land them on a spam list or their email might be mis-used in some way.
Having a DMP-powered shop solves that problem. But there are a number of things you can do to enhance your DMP Shop’s trust worthiness.
Create a Terms Page
You can call this page ‘Terms and Conditions’ or ‘Terms of Service’ or anything else that would let the visitor know what this page contains.
Again there are templates and generators available online, but you will need to include some information specific to domain sales. This would include payment processing, domain ownership transfer (domain push or registrar transfer or either), returns, etc.
Create the page and set it the same way as the Privacy page above in Settings of the DMP app control panel.
Create a Page Outlining the Buying Process
Creating a page that clearly outlines the process: finding a domain or domains, adding to cart (if pricing is included), checking out, PayPal and/or escrow processes, making an offer, finally domain transfer process.
The more that the visitor is familiar with the purchase process the more comfortable s/he will be which will more likely lead to a sale.
Here is a tip: Use the Sales Page Blurb (available under Customize Website then Sales Page options) to include info on the buying process. This blurb appears on each domain sales page under the domain info.
Include a Phone Number
Some buyers, perhaps most, trust websites more when a phone number is clearly visible and a way to talk to a human. They may use the number to call to confirm domain ownership and availability. Just talking to a real person on the other end clears many fears and puts the buyer at ease.
Add a 3rd Party Support Chat
Support chat boxes such as the ones provided by Live Chat, Pure Chat, or a similar service, will allow your visitors to contact you in real-time. This, too, shows that you care about customer service and subsequently leads to more trust in your brand. Additionally, the leading chat box services also have an app available in Google Play or App Store so you can respond to inquiries on-the-go via your smartphone.
In your DMP app control panel, you can add a chat box by copying and pasting the code provided by one of the said providers into the header or footer areas (we recommend the footer). This option is available under Customize Website then Advanced options.
